Preconception and Fertility

The development of the life process begins about three to four months before conception when sperm production and egg maturation begins.  It is at this time that the sperm and egg are most vulnerable to toxicity, radiation and nutritional deficiencies.  It is not sufficient to take folic acid for three months beforehand in the hope of preventing a neural tube defect; other conditions which may be prevented include asthma, eczema, learning difficulties, colic, reflux and hyperactivity.
